ARCQE’s Child Development Supports project is is proud to host this exclusive Parent Symposium in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS). This year we’re bringing the learning directly to you with a free series of engaging webinars designed to support families and educators in enhancing their children’s development from the comfort of their home.

Who can attend?

The CDS Parent Symposium is for families and educators involved in Child Development Supports. Does your child attend a program engaged with Child Development Supports? Do you work a program receiving CDS coaching? Join in!

Your Day, Your Way

1, 2, or 3 sessions! Attendance to the full day is not necessary, you are welcome to learn from any or all sessions of interest. The Symposium will be a well rounded learning experience, but we know you’re busy – attend what you can!

Session 1 – Building Your Child’s Fine Motor Skills

Does your child avoid, or not like, fine motor activities like arts and crafts?  Are you wondering how to help your child build their fine motor skills?

If so, please join this session to learn:

  • How to help your child build fine motor skills
  • What fine motor activities are, besides arts and crafts
  • How to build fine motor opportunities into your child’s day

This webinar is intended for all parents and caregivers of children who are from 3 years to 5 years. The strategies are suitable for all children, including those with delayed skills.

Session 2 – Understanding Your Child’s Behaviour

Do you ever feel stuck or unsure of what to do to help your child regulate in challenging situations? Do you wonder how to support your child’s skill development?

  • Strategies to build cooperation and lower frustration
  • Where to get more information and help

This webinar is intended for all parents and caregivers of children from birth to 5 years.

 

 

Session 3 – Talking and Listening for Young Children
