Educators and Early Learning Childcare programs can join this online Practice-Based Learning Community (PLC) to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another as they engage in dialogue and reflect on Flight Framework explorations in practice.
Participants may join one PLC and commit to participating with that learning community for all monthly sessions guided by experienced facilitators.

Topics for ARCQE’s Practice-Based Learning Communities change annually. Explore our current topic offerings below:
PLC 1 – Making Learning Visible: Pedagogical Documentation
Explore how documentation can move beyond record-keeping to tell the story of children’s learning. This community, grounded in the Flight Framework, invites participants to co-create focus areas, practice strategies for making learning visible, and experiment with ways to invite reflection and feedback. Guided by participant questions and experiences, each session uncovers practical approaches for bringing documentation to life in everyday practice.
PLC 2 – Reimagining Spaces: Responsive Environments in Action
Discover how environments can act as powerful co-constructors of children’s learning. Using the Flight Framework as a guide, this community explores trending topics and often-overlooked spaces – from loose parts and risky play to family participation and staff rooms. Guided by participants’ questions and curiosities, each session begins with a provocation and grows into collaborative reflection.
PLC 3 – Cultivating Connections: Relationships in Practice
Explore the art and intentionality of building relationships in early learning programs. This community draws on the Flight Framework’s focus on A Practice of Relationships, inviting participants to reflect on their connections with children, co-educators, families, and the wider community, identifying successes and challenges in real-world contexts. Guided by participant experiences and questions, each session blends theory and practice to uncover strategies for fostering nurturing, responsive relationships.
PLC 4- Planning: From Themes to Emergent Curriculum
Move beyond thematic planning to explore emergent curriculum in practice. This community invites participants to share current planning methods, reflect on insights from leaders in the field, and experiment with Flight’s Cycle of Co-Inquiry as a framework for responsive planning. Guided by participant questions and examples, each session uncovers strategies for noticing, naming, and nurturing children’s interests – turning planning into a collaborative, dynamic process.
