ARCQE’s influential partnerships that contribute to the specialized professional knowledge and expertise in brain development, healthy eating and nutrition, environmental health and safety, and cultural diversity. These collaborations ensure that ARCQE continues to support the community with quality improvement strategies, diverse pedagogical leadership, and a wide array of professional practice contexts to enhance early learning services.

  • Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta

    The Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta (AECEA) is a non-profit member-based society that advocates for higher educational standards, wages, system support, and better working conditions for those in the early childhood education landscape. AECEA was also a founding member of the development of the ARCQE agency in 2004. Learn more about AECEA and explore their Brain Story Certification & Theory-to-Practice Sessions.

    Partnership Offering: Brain Story Theory-to-Practice Series


    The Alberta Family Wellness Initiative (AFWI) has developed an online course to make Brain Story science available to professionals and the public. Brain Story Certification is designed for those seeking a deeper understanding of brain development and its consequences for lifelong health. The course is also designed for professionals seeking certification in a wide range of fields. After completing the Brain Story Certification, ECEs can register to participate in sessions facilitated by the Alberta Resource Centre for Quality Enhancement designed specifically for ECEs to connect the theory and ideas presented in the Brain Story to their daily practice, interactions, and relationships with children and families.

  • Dairy Farmers of Canada’s Registered Dietitians

    At Teach Nutrition, you’ll find food and nutrition resources and professional development opportunities that support positive attitudes and behaviours related to food and eating.  Because of Dairy Farmers of Canada’s longstanding commitment to essential nutrition and education, we can make great resources designed and delivered by our Registered Dietitians at no cost to you.

    Partnership Offering: Nourishing Beginnings Learning Series


    Delivered in partnership with ARCQE, Early Childhood Educators are invited to build knowledge and confidence in early childhood nutrition! Discover how with Nourishing Beginnings, a free online program designed specifically for early learning and child care (ELCC) professionals. The program offers helpful information on how to feed toddlers and preschoolers and how to engage children in learning about food. Each module aligns with Flight and has been developed with leaders in ELCC and nutrition education.

  • Policy Wise for Children & Families

    Since 2003, PolicyWise has been working with governments and social sector organizations serving children, youth and families. PolicyWise develops custom approaches to help clients gain knowledge, evaluate programs and services, and manage data.

    Partnership Offering: Spark Mentorship Program


    The Spark Mentorship Program is a companion support service developed by ARCQE to work directly with programs in implementing and applying the Policy Wise Spark Guide strategies. Cultural Partners collaborate with Program Leaders to recognize and respond to the rich cultural diversity in their programs and communities.

  • Health Canada - Environmental Health

    Health Canada’s Environmental Health Program (EHP) under the Regulatory Operations and Enforcement Branch (ROEB) is a national program that works to protect the health of Canadians from environmental risks. The goal of EHP is to promote safe and healthy living, working as well as recreational environments by raising awareness of risks and health impacts related to environmental factors and providing mitigation strategies to help address any risks.

    Parnership Offering: Environmental Health Awareness and Learning Toolkit (EHALT)


    These sessions will inform ECEs about chemicals and pollutants in the environment and their potential adverse impacts on human health, especially for children in their care, and what actions can be taken to protect the health and safety of these children. This series will increase awareness about environmental health risks and mitigation strategies to communities within Alberta. As a result, knowledge gained by ECEs will be transferred to children in their care as well as their families, including vulnerable populations such as expecting parents and indigenous populations.
