Building strong foundations for lifelong learning through a Brain Story Certification.
Building strong foundations for lifelong learning through a Brain Story Certification.
Learn about the important role Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) play in early childhood brain development through the Brain Story Certification Course.
Lifelong health isn’t just about our genes. Experiences during key development periods can change the brain, affecting our risk for physical and mental illnesses, including addiction. This idea is central to the Brain Story, which explains scientific concepts in a way that both experts and non-experts can understand. The Brain Story combines decades of research into knowledge that is valuable for early childhood educators to understand.
ARCQE is proud to connect you to the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative (AFWI) offering an online course to share Brain Story science. Brain Story Certification* provides a deeper understanding of brain development and its impact on lifelong health and is useful for professionals seeking certification.
*Please note the Brain Story Certification is provided by ARCQE Affiliate the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative. For questions about this course please contact [email protected].
Connect Brain Story theory and ideas to your daily practice.
After finishing the Brain Story Certification, ECEs can register for learning sessions, facilitated by ARCQE to apply the Brain Story ideas to their daily work with children and families.
These sessions help ECEs:
Understand their role in children’s brain development and its importance in early years.
Use their new knowledge confidently in daily practice.
See how the Brain Story concepts match with Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework and inclusive childcare practices.
The sessions are available in person and online in various formats. After completing the sessions, ECEs will be reimbursed for ten hours of learning time.
