The Alberta Resource Centre for Quality Enhancement was established in 2004 under the governance of three highly respected and recognized organizations with long-standing credibility in the early learning sector, both provincially and nationally. Under the practical guidance of the Association of Early Childhood Educators in Alberta (AECEA), the Canadian Child Care Federation (CCCF), and Family Resource Programs Canada (FRP), ARCQE was supported by the development of a wide range of support services guided by the following principles:
